LAMONT SMOOTH - 01/14/06 - THE BARLEY HOUSE

Our Friends LAMONT SMOOTH played BH tonight, so I thought I'd go get some photos. The light there was good last night. These 3 guys kick some serious butt, so if you ever hear of them in your area, go check them out. You will be thanking me later.Ben Foote's surprise 30th birthday party was earlier @ Chen Yang Li and there was some good stuff going on there too. Ben's rousing version of "Just A Gigolo" was everyone's highlight with "Veranda's" 'GLORIA' comin' in a close second. Happy Birthday Ben! Good to see everyone.
THE BAND JUNE will play again on the 17th of February @ the Blue Mermaid. Mark you calendars and we hope to see you there.
PS-Doesn't Jared on drums look like Jeff Tweedy?!
BARLEY HOUSE 01/13/06

Here are some pictures from our show tonight at the Barley House. We had a good night in the sense that we were able to explore and be really creative, but the Full-Moon, Friday the thirteenth-vibe, kinda' messed with us a little bit. We had a great time though. Corey Garland joined us for a rousing version of Mechelle's song, "FOLLOW YOU DOWN" at the end of the night. Thanks to all who came out.

Here's a video of Mechelle's song "SORRY" from our gig last night. Our new friends filmed it for us and I must say they did a great job. They recorded almost the entire show. So I hope you enjoy this video and pass it along.

I've just made our video for Mechelles' song "Pistol Smile" available for you to view here. The video is really rough and just a mix of photos and video I shot over the recording process of the song and that time period in late April of 2004. Hope you enjoy!!!

We definitely had our weirdest night ever last night. It's in the archives already and it's quarter past ten in the morning east coast time. Not only was the building that we were in apparently haunted, but the ghosts seemed to be having a field day with our equipment. Mechelle's microphone cut out on and off all night until finally it frialated mid-set. Mech and I cranked out 'COWBOY' while Freeman and Ben worked on the repairs. My bass shit-out first song. The active electronics that I've run in it for 2 years decided that it would be good to die right in the middle of a song...all of the sudden, I had distortion!!! In almost twenty years of playing music, that was my single weirdest experience above all!!! We sounded friccin' great too!!! Nice job guys.
We will be at the Barley House this Friday with, hopefully, a really special guest. I'll let you know more later.
